The federal government's BOREALIS program and new defence innovation hubs can accelerate turning innovative Canadian technologies into operational capabilities for defence and national security. But their success depends on the Canadian Armed Forces and the national security community stepping up coordination and collaboration with innovative SMES, university researchers and colleges’ applied researchers – and vice versa.
